Cole got the game ball!!!!!

So, this has been a difficult baseball season for us. Cole had to move up to machine pitch and is on a team with 1st-3rd graders. There are only 2 1st graders on his team (him being 1). He has a hard time paying attention and trying to keep up with these older boys who have longer attention spans. Neil has been working with him along with myself and our awesome coach. Cole has also had a hard time hitting the ball, since it is being shot out of a friggin machine. Well, this past Friday we had a game. The boys were doing awesome!! Cole was paying attention and actually hit his 1st hit. It was a nice solid hit too!!! After the game was over the coach always gives one of the boys the game ball. Well... Cole got it!!! The coach told Cole he was getting the game ball for paying attention and for getting his 1st solid hit. He has hit before, but not a nice SOLID hit. Starting Monday he will be taking batting lessons at Frozen Ropes. Of course, Neil talked to the instructor on the phone and had to give him the low down on what in his opinion the problem is. LOL Boys... ugh!

WHAT!?!?!?!

Ok.. so my Twilight blinkie says the movie is coming in 54 days. So I think, how is that, it was supposed to open in December. So.. I go to my favorite author's website and this is what I found...

Now for the good news! Though we're all sad to have to wait for Harry Potter, this open spot at the theater creates a cool opportunity. The good people at Summit were thrilled to let me know that now Twilight fans are going to get their movie three weeks earlier than scheduled. That's right—Twilight will be released in theaters November 21st! Let the merry-making commence!

WOO HOO!!!!! So my girlies and I will be going to a midnight viewing of this masterpiece!! :) So far we have about 6 of us.

Cub Scouts!!!

OK... so Cole has bugged the tar out of me ALL summer to sign him up for Cub Scouts. So we did!! He had his 1st event this Sunday. They built raingutter boats and held a raingutter regetta. He LOVED it!! Several of his friends joined too and they are all in the same den. There are 5 of them that are buddies, so this should be an interesting year for their den leader. LOL!! He is an official Tiger Cub... so watch out... we are selling POPCORN!!!

Waiting on the HUGE storm.....

Ok.. so my hubby has a little bit of Chicken Little in him. He thought, like a lot of people did, that this weekend we were going to have this HUGE storm. So our pantry is full... I mean FULL... of canned veggies, and other hunker down foods. He does this everytime the news says a catastrophe is going to come. You should have seen him at Y2K. Now that my friends was Chicken Little at his best!!! :)

First couple weeks of school

Ok, so Cole has been in 1st grade for 3 weeks now. He has the sweetest teacher ever!! He loves her. He has been on his best behavior to impress her. It doesn't help that she is young and super cute!! LOL It is hard to believe that he is in 1st grade already. it seems like yesterday that he and Neil drove me to school after I had to go back from maternity leave and left me bawling in the parking lot. Where do the years go? Now he is almost 7... yes 7!!!!!!!!!! He is getting "best friends" which totally cracks me up. And is talking about how the girls drive him nuts by chasing him around the playground. Thank God that he is immature and totally oblivious to the fact that what they are really doing is flirting. :) Oh, the good times. Where girls flirt and boys have absolutely no idea that you are flirting. HA HA!!

Cole's "cup" experience!!

Ok... so I have to share a story that made me laugh so hard I cried. Cole is now playing machine pitch baseball. This is a whole new thing to us. Well... apparently in machine pitch they have to wear a cup. Cole calls it his "weiney protector." He LOVES his cup. He puts it on (looking like a Chippendale dancer) and sticks his hips out saying, "Hello ladies!!"Not only does he walk around like he has a sausage in his pants, but he periodically knocks on it. Yes.....he knocks on it. Standing on the practice field he feels the urge to knock on his "weiney protector!!" OMG... what is wrong with this picture?!?!?! Of course, I am trying to explain to him that everyone has to wear one or they can't play machine pitch, but do the other boys knock on their cups?? You bet they do!! They love those suckers!! OOOOHHHH.... the saga of boys. :) I will post a pic as soon as I have one. Not of him modeling the cup, just a pic of him in his new uniform. LOL
