Mom Nights!!

I absolutely have the best friends EVER!!! We love getting together and just hanging out with each other. We usually do weekly lunches, monthly game nights, and spend MANY hours on the phone. :) Our monthly Bunco is always a guarantee to a good time. Love you girls!!

Ornament Exchange 2009!!

I had my annual ornament exchange on December 5th this year. It was so much fun. I have an amazing group of friends that I adore and love spending time with. God has definitely blessed me in the friend department and I truly appreciate every one of them. We ate some yummy food, had some holiday drinks, opened our ornament, and then played Shout it Out... blondes vs. brunettes! Hahahaha!!! There were more in attendance then what you see in the pics... batteries ran out. Ugh! :)

Austin trip :)

Every summer our PTA board members are offered the chance to go to a convention in Austin. Not only is it a great opportunity for team building and to learn the in a nd outs of Texas PTA, but it is also a ton of mommy fun!! This year I went with Valarie and Kirsten. Valarie and I were already buds, but it gave me a chance to make a new friend who is dear to me. We had a blast going to classes, out to dinner, and talking to the homeless. Well.... I thought they were homeless.... long story. :) Kirsten came on Friday morning to pick me up. We then went to Val's to get her. Here she comes with her big sunglasses on and a look of not so happy. Once in the car she proceeds to take her glasses off to show us her BLACK EYE!! She was using a lever on her son's light and it fell on her face. I felt so badly for her. We were going to a friggin PTA convention and she has a black eye. No bueno. :) Enjoy our pics. We had a blast!!

Relay for Life 2009

What an awesome even Relay for Life is. This is the first year I have went to this amazing event here in McKinney. Kaysee and I decided we would take our kiddos out for the booths and to support our Minshew friends at various booths. The kids had a blast and we got to walk around in awesome weather and here/read amazing battles. It was touching to see the bags with survivors and those in memory of the battle with cancer. Since I had Melanoma just 1 year and a half ago and had to have major surgery and a lymph node removed, this battle hits home with me. I had to fight back tears as we saw bags with names and pictures of little ones on there that either won or lost their battle. But... on a fun note.. the Mr. Relay pageant was hysterical. There was an older man that was our favorite. He knew how to work it and was hysterical! As we were leaving, he and his wife had parked next to Kaysee. What was awesome, was he and his wife both were survivors and he was proof that God is good and we should enjoy this life while we are here. He is an inspiration to me and I am sure he is to others as well! Enjoy the pics. :)

Girls Dinner at Chuy's!!!

Oh thank heaven for my dear friend Jenny. A couple of Sundays ago she must have read my mind and knew I was in need of a girls dinner. Several of us went to the best restaraunt EVER... Chuy's. Great food and cheap margaritas!! HA HA!! I have the best group of friends a girl could ask for!! I treasure each of you and thank God daily for having you in my life. :)

Valarie's Baby Shower

This is a little late.. but better late than never right??? Veronica, Kaysee, and I threw our friend Valarie a baby shower. We went to Uncle Julio's and had a blast. Her and her family are huge Texas Longhorn fans, so of course her cake was Longhorns!! We are still waiting on little Adrian to make his appearnce, but he will be a cutie!!

Last day as a brunette....

I went with Cole on his field trip last Thursday and it was my official last full day as a brunette. Friday evening, I went and had my blond highlights put back in. G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S!!!!! I feel like the blond fits my personality better. Brunette makes me look quiet... notice I said "look". Anyone who even kind of knows me knows I am not quiet. HHHMMM.... guess that is where Cole gets it from. Huh??? :) Here is a pic of my last day as a brunette. I will post a blond one when I get it ready. ;)

Ornament Exchange 2008!!

So most of you know that I host an annual ornament exchange. Well, this year was a little different. We had to go for round 2 after the Fortenberry family got sick on the 1st one. So, finally the big day came. My girlies came over with ornament in tow. We had great food ( I had to join a gym because of Kim's Gloreos by the way), fun games, and of course the all gloves off ornament exchange. There were a couple of us (myself included) who wanted the same ornament. After conning Kim and Jenny to work a plan with me, we all 3 finally got the ones we wanted. Thanks girls!! :) I love having friends over. My group of girls are the BEST ever!!!!!

PS.... the camera got tossed to the side after a while, so there were others there besides the girls in the pics. My precious friends not pictured were: Carrie, Steph Mullen, Steph Marchal, Val, Laney, and Debbie. Hugs!!!!

OK.... I have been tagged y my friend (and could be sister some day) Stacy...I have to share 7 random facts about myself ....hmmmm...let me see...
1.) I am terribly hard on myself!! I nit pick everything I do and most of the time think it could have been done better. I know.. I am working on it. :)
2.) I smell my food before I eat it. Hey... I never said I wasn't weird!! lol
3.) I will not sit on toilets of people I am not close with. So if I come to your house and use your potty and it is taking me a while... it is because I am placing toilet paper around the lid to form my own little seat cover. ;)
4.) I'm a chips/dip fanatic!! I love finger foods and anything I can eat while talking, running around, on the go!
5.) I repeat movie lines to relate to incidences. If you hear me say... "Say it... Say it out loud"..... ... now you know
6.) I will not keep things past their due date!! That is just disgusting!!!
7.) I can be a bit bossy..... I don't see this but it is something Neil said. I am going to have to tell him that he needs to.... Well.. maybe I am a bit bossy. :)

Twilight Movie!!!!

Yeah...... so 9 of my gilries and me went to see the Twilight movie last night!! We had a blast. Yes I loved the movie, but only because I am a true Twilighter. Was it cheesy... in parts, yes. Was it low scale production.... yes. Will I buy it when it comes out on DVD... OF COURSE I WILL!!!!! Part of the problem is that we were in a theater FULL of teeny boppers who laughed at parts that weren't meant to be laughed at. Us mature Twilighters will have to see it during the day when there are less teenage hormones in full rage. :) Check out our shirts!!

TWILIGHT!!!! 9 days to go!!

OMG!!! Ok.. so Twilight is in 9 days. Holy cow... 9 more days!! Can I even wait that long???? You know... is it wrong that I am in love with a friggin fictional character that is a vampire?!?!?! So in honor of my undying love to my fictional boy toy... here are some sayings just for you Twilight freaks. :) You know you love Twilight.. you just keep it a secret where as I confess my love openly. LOL

My birthday dinner with my girls!!

For my 34th birthday I invited some of my girls to dinner. We had a blast!!! There were 7 of us (including Kaysee's mom from Utah... HHHMMM... I wonder if we scared her away from Texas??? LOL) Our original plan was to visit Uncle Julio's. HOWEVER... since I wasn't told they had call ahead seating, and we were not about to wait 2 and a half hours for a table, we headed to PF Chang's. It really didn't matter where we ate as long as we had a mom's dinner, with drinks, chatting, and no kiddies. :) As you can tell from the scrapblog, Veronica had the camera on the opposite side of Kim, Jenny, and me. Sorry... Kaysee, Carrie , and V. :( There is a group shot that Kaysee's mom took of all of us. Thank you to my girls who make my day brighter and my life fuller. You are a blessing to me and I adore all of you!!!!

PS... Jenny is getting Kim's purse from under the table... and NO none of us were drunk!

WHAT!?!?!?!

Ok.. so my Twilight blinkie says the movie is coming in 54 days. So I think, how is that, it was supposed to open in December. So.. I go to my favorite author's website and this is what I found...

Now for the good news! Though we're all sad to have to wait for Harry Potter, this open spot at the theater creates a cool opportunity. The good people at Summit were thrilled to let me know that now Twilight fans are going to get their movie three weeks earlier than scheduled. That's right—Twilight will be released in theaters November 21st! Let the merry-making commence!

WOO HOO!!!!! So my girlies and I will be going to a midnight viewing of this masterpiece!! :) So far we have about 6 of us.

Austin July 2008!!!

OK... so I am just getting my dang disc to work. I went to Ausitn with 4 other awesome ladies to "learn" about our PTA positions this summer. It was the absolute best time I have had in a LONG TIME!!! I already knew Veronica pretty well... but I made 3 other friends for life!! I LOVE my girlies. We did learn lots of stuff about the PTA, but we learned even more about each other!! Let's just say my amigas learned that drunk Kristi is no different from sober Kristi. Sad... Scary... BUT TRUE!!! I love you girlies.. you know who you are. Look in my pic if you don't. HA HA HA!!!! It is so much easier to work with each other as close as we have to on the PTA board when you feel comfortable and at ease with everyone. :)

I LOVE Twilight!!!!

OK... so this blinkie is the story of my life. I read all 3 of the 1st books in the Twilight series in one weekend last summer!! Than I anxiously waited for the 4th book to come out. Rushed out to buy it. Read it in 3 days... and now I am dying waiting on the friggin movie to come out in December!! Why do I do this to myself?? Why can't I relaxingly read a book in a week or so and then move on? Why do I get so engrossed with a book that I jeapordize my health just to finish it?!?!? WHY!!!!!!

OK.. so I am going to do my very 1st blog vent session!! I am soooo irritated and I have no one else to blame but myself. So, most of you know I am on the PTA board at Cole's school. Well... my ONLY job last year was to order the school supplies, and a planner for the upper grade and folders for the younger. So... my most gracious friends go to the school today to help me sort/organize/distribute these dang supplies, planners, and folders. And what happens.... I AM SHORT STINKIN PLANNERS!!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So now I had to reorder more and the kiddos will have to wait 2 frigging weeks for them to get here. It is sooo much easier when this is someone else's fault. Then I can laugh and say HA HA... not so funny when I am the one that screwed up!! OK... all done. I feel totally better !!!!!

I'm Back....

OK.. so summer has started to settle down and I'm back to my blog!! I have had an amazing summer with my family and friends. I do have to admit though, this is the1st summer where I am like... "How much longer till school starts?????" I know when school starts it will be crazy, but Cole is so bored at home that he is driving me nuts!!!!
